Financial Freedom: What Does it Really Mean?

posted by Everest John Alexander, Group AdministratorThursday, July 28th 2011 @ 7:59 AM (1 ratings)    post viewed 341 times

As an Entrepreneur, for a very long time I thought that financial freedom was having multiple streams of income and not just relying on a job.

I believed firmly in developing passive residual income streams that would increase faster than the rate of inflation thus paying you more money than you actually needed… and that would constitute financial freedom!

I was wrong… that may be a part of the solution but that’s not the whole truth of the matter at all!

In giving us financial favor God may bless us with multiple streams of passive residual income but this in and of itself cannot be what financial freedom is about.

True financial freedom is more than having a residual income steam.

True financial freedom is having the intimate, personal knowledge of the God of the universe, to the extent that if every financial system in the world fails and falls apart and everyone else looses all their money you won’t be phased because you know the One who owns all the wealth and you are supremely confident and secure in His love for you that He will always supply all your needs, on time, every time!

That… and only that… is true financial freedom!

And the only way you come into this knowledge is when you realize all Jesus has done for you and in you through His death, burial, resurrection and ascension into heaven.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” 2 Cor 8:9 (NIV)
