Believing unto righteousness means that as a child of God, you not only mentally understand and acknowledge, but also have an actual knowledge of the truth of your right standing before God.Bible belief speaks of what you know to be true not just what you mentally believe.When people ask me if I believe in God (meaning if I think God exists) my answer is always, no, of course not… I don’t just believe in God, I know Him!He’s my Father… I have a relationship with Him. I’ve been talking with Him every day for over 20 years and I’m not crazy! Of course, I know He’s real!How would you answer the question, “Do you believe your dad exists?”The question is absurd, you don’t believe your parents exist, you know they exist… you have a relationship with them.This is what bible belief is all about… it’s about knowing beyond your conscious mind that something is real and true.Believing unto righteousness means you know that Jesus’ finished work at the cross has made you accepted before God and that all God’s judgment for your sin has already been poured out on the body of Jesus and all Jesus’s righteousness has been given to you as a free gift.So, when God the Father looks at you all He sees is the innocence and righteousness of Jesus Christ.In the Old Testament when an Israelite sinned and brought a lamb before the High Priest as a Sin Offering did the High Priest inspect the Israelite or the lamb for faults?When the question of your guiltiness of sin comes up before God does God inspect you or your Lamb for sins?Jesus Christ is the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)He is your Sin Offering! God inspects Him not you… This is what you are saved from… inspection for sins!God looks at Jesus to see if you are acceptable before Him! If your Lamb is perfect… you are acceptable before God and counted as righteous!This is why you cannot lose your salvation... you can never be counted guilty before God because you have a perfect sacrifice.A Sin Offering that will stand for eternity!
