Understanding the 3 Levels of Salvation: Spirit, Soul & Body
Book One: The Salvation of the Spirit
Restoration Of Relationship
Sin separates man from God, this is evident because He said, “...In the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die” Gen. 2:17, paraphrased, this reads, “... the very moment that you sin against God, you’ll become spiritually separated from Him!”
Sin separates man from God!
It creates an impassable gulf that we cannot traverse! We cannot get to God in a sinful condition! We can pray, we can go to church, we can surely read the Bible but we cannot, in a sinful condition, meet with God personally!
In other words, we could not have a personal relationship with Him and with no relationship we could not have any fellowship! We needed a mediator, someone who could initially approach God on our collective behalf and make the way for us to approach Him individually.
In Christ Jesus, we have exactly that person, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”, 1st Tim. 2:5! That’s why Jesus said, “I am the way,” John 14:6. It is important to note that sin separates man from God but not God from man! We couldn’t reach Him but He could always reach us. Thank you Father!
Now, through Jesus who is called Christ, (Christ, which means the Anointed One with His Anointing), we can boldly go before the throne of God the Father in person, and make petition, intercession or just enjoy the intimacy of praise and worship.
This intimate fellowship is possible because of some very specific principles that are activated every time a person confesses his faith in Jesus Christ. These are called the attributes of salvation and they are:
1) Redemption - This is the literal re-purchase of a human soul from the devil, so that, instead of being under the dominion of Satan we’re now under the dominion of God, paid for with the very blood of Jesus.
We were once owned by God through creation, became lost to Him through rebellion but now are re-owned by Him through adoption! We are adopted back into the family of God, ransomed with the blood of Jesus. “God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God’s own adopted children,” Eph. 1:5. (CEV)
Definition:
Redemption is the buying back of a human being from the
ownership and control of the devil with the blood of Jesus, so that the entire person is now completely owned by God; spirit, soul and body!
NOTE: This is the reason why a Christian cannot be demon possessed. Possession means ownership and you cannot be owned by two different masters at the same time!
However, you can have an infestation, (demons living within your body) but not possession (demons living within your spirit)!
More details on this in Book Two!
