What is the Purpose of Man?

posted by Everest John Alexander, Group AdministratorTuesday, May 18th 2010 @ 8:35 PM (2 ratings)    post viewed 683 times

What is the purpose of man?

I guess this is the most fundamental query of the human heart.

Philosophers, Clergymen and Scientists have all tried to answer this question for millennia.

I believe I have an insight into this mystery which I will now share with you.

Imagine in the beginning before there was anything, I mean really in the beginning.

No Heaven, no Earth, no Sun, Moon, Stars or Galaxies.

The universe was not yet created, there were no Angels, no Creatures, no nothing, just God, only God, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit; all by Himself.

Why did God create man?

God created man to be able to express the full potential of His own nature.

The Bible says that God is love and teaches us that He’s also a limitless being.

He’s omnipotent, omni-present and omniscient. In fact, these three attributes form part of the very foundation of His nature – What He intrinsically is.

So, God’s power is limitless, His presence is limitless and His knowledge is also limitless.

Having understood this it’s not a stretch to conclude that His capacity to love is also limitless.

The Bible says, “He is love” and He is a limitless Being so His love must also be limitless.

If He has a limitless supply of love then he would need a limitless supply of objects upon which His love could terminate.

In other words, God would need a limitless supply of beings to love.

Why? Because “to love is to give”, loving is giving. The Bible says, “For God so love that He gave…” John 3:16

Loving necessitates the act of giving, therefore, God had a problem.

He had a limitless supply of love but existed alone.

Why did God create man?

God created man so He could be true to His nature and fulfill His own potential.

He created man to be able to express the full capacity of His love. He has a limitless supply of love therefore He needed a limitless supply of other beings with which He could share His limitless love.

This necessitated the creation of a species of creatures that could receive His love and reciprocate it, thus the creation of the race of man.
